It is said that this movie would revolutionized the hit Philippine horror movie series, Shake, Rattle and Roll. The movie has five different episodes, which are directed by five great Philippine movie directors – Frasco Mortiz, Enrico Santos, Ato Bautista, Nick Olanka, and Cathy Garcia-Molina. The prime lead stars of the said movie are: Sam Concepcion, AJ Perez, Robi Domingo, Jodi Sta. Maria, Rayver Cruz, Maja Salvador, Mariel Rodriguez, Pokwang, and Zanjoe Marudo. Each stories have different climax. As each story moves on, it becomes scarier.
Mata (The Eye)
The woman is the witness of the crime scene – a shoot out done by his chauvinistic and egoistic boyfriend named Alvin. But, she promised Alvin not to tell anyone or the authorities. The victims from the shoot-out cried for justice as they haunt this woman. And, flow of the events keep on repeating like a deja vu to give a chance to the woman to do the right thing. The woman finally realized that she should stood up against his bully boyfriend named Alvin. Unfortunately, to save the victim, she killed Alvin with a gun. And, Alvin wanted to take revenge so his phantom haunt his girlfriend. I am mystified by the term – Deja Vu. Is it real or it is just a coincidence? There is something mysterious happening going on that no one could explain. They said it is just a paranormal. Some said that those believe in paranormal are Devil worshipers.
Mukha (The Face)
A successful businesswoman named Risa is a control freak. Her guts is hated by her subordinates. One of her employees, specifically a janitor, made a mistake, so she fired him. Before, she fired him, she maltreated him. The janitor needs the job so bad because he is the head of the family and a breadwinner. He said he would rather die than to lose a job. Two concerned employees could not take the abusive treatment of their boss Risa to their beloved janitor so they played a trick on them pretending that the phantom of the janitor is haunting the office. On the other hand, the janitor killed himself by jumping from the roof top. When Risa discovered that her employee played a trick on her, she fired him. When she got to the elevator after getting her car keys, the phantom of the janitor appeared and that lose her insanity because she could not stand to see the face of the phantom.
Braso (The Arm)
Three college students joined a fraternity. As their final initiation, they will be dressed in women’s underwear and will be stayed inside the morgue in three hours. A certain guy who is a tough kid who is not afraid of anything. He is the one who is trying to explore the different things inside the morgue. Then they discovered a cadaver. And, there is an arm, that is not belong to the cadaver, and its thumb was inside the cadaver’s mouth. The arm is alive. It has its own mind that controls everything. It scares the three college students to death until they quit the initiation. The leader of the fraternity who urged his girlfriend to make out with him inside the morgue was killed by this arm that has its own mind. Luckily, the three college students are still alive.
Puso (The Heart)
Emily, the ugly looking girl, is working at the amusement park. She fell for the handsome face of her colleague named Elvis. Her godmother doesn’t want to see her sad so she make a love potion. One drop of this potion would cause Elvis to have a crush on Emily. Two drops of this potion would cause Elvis not to forget Emily. The full volume of potion would cause Elvis to become overly obsessed with Emily. Therefore, Emily used the full volume of that potion. Elvis was killed and he became a zombie and still searched for Emily. During his chase with Emily, Emily thought that she had escaped from Elvis by burying him. But, when the arm of Elvis appeared, Emily cut it off and she had an asthma attacked. Here is the epilogue or the twist of this movie, the arm of zombie Elvis is the zombie arm that is attacking the three college students inside the morgue, which is part of the first episode of this movie.
Paa (The Foot)
I am touched with this story. A story of a mother’s love for her daughter. She is very poor and has no money to buy her daughter a new pair of shoes. So, she steals the new pairs of shoes from the rich girl named Kate, who happened to be the classmate of her daughter. Kate chased her but she was hit by the running car and her leg was cut-off, and then she died. The woman saw everything and she is guilty about it because she is the cause of the little girl’s death. The phantom of the little girl haunts the woman. That scares the woman to death. The phantom doesn’t want her new pair of shoes back but she wanted to take the life of the poor woman’s daughter. The woman prayed to God that her child would be saved from the phantom’s wrath. The phantom was punished and the child was saved. Jodi Sta. Maria is a good actress. I watched some of her soap operas. She can portray different characters. In this episode of the movie, she gives her full best.
